Honoring our Founder

As many of you may already know, Pastor John MacArthur has gone home to be with the Lord after 56 years of faithful ministry. Grace Academy forever honors its founder and advocate whose faithfulness left a legacy of defense of the truth, knowledge of Scripture, training the next generation, and provision for children’s education that declares and promotes the glory of God. Grace Academy exists because of Pastor John's passion for children and Christian education and the conviction of Christ who said, “…do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matt. 19:14).

We are privileged to hold on to the mission he forged for a hybrid model that partners with parents and teachers, under the leadership of Grace Community Church, that points children to Christ. The gospel will continue to be boldly communicated and experienced in this school setting for generations to come. This was made possible by Pastor John's faithfulness to build and safeguard Christ-honoring education.

Thankfulness gleams in our hearts to our Lord for gifting us a leader, shepherd, and model teacher, who taught us how to teach with love, sacrifice, obedience, and faithfulness to the truth. We also grieve, but in hope in our Savior, whom we look to through the faith He provides.

May my teaching drip as the rain, My speech trickle as the dew, As droplets on the fresh grass, And as the showers on the vegetation.  For I proclaim the name of the Lord; Ascribe greatness to our God! The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just."

—Deuteronomy 32:2–4

Pastor John taught us well, much like the words of Moses in the verses above. He leaves us an enduring example to model. His influence lives on in our hearts at Grace Academy. We rejoice and grieve with you all.
