Meet Deanna Price

How long have you been teaching for?

This will be my fifteenth year in education.

What is your favorite class to teach?

That is a hard question for me because God can use every age and every subject in a special way to equip and grow us. I loved teaching kindergarten in my first year of teaching, and I have loved teaching adults and high school students. Each grade and class require a different type of energy and love.

I will admit I am very excited to be in the fifth and sixth grade class because this year is such a beautiful time when God works in the lives of our children and students are able to respond and engage in different ways than in their early elementary days. I am certain that this will be my favorite class to teach this year!

What is your favorite part of teaching?

My favorite part of teaching is praying and doing my best to plant seeds and then being able to watch those seeds grow. Only God knows how our gifts will be used, but over the years to have students come back, years later, and share how they have grown and/or applied their learning has been a great encouragement to me.

Who was your favorite teacher as a child?

It has always been difficult for me to pinpoint one individual because the Lord used many amazing teachers and coaches to speak into my life. I had coaches that were like my family and teachers that would go above and beyond to make sure I had all I needed to succeed. I am always thankful to them and do my best through God’s grace to support the students I am blessed to teach.

What do you look most forward to about teaching at Grace Academy?

I am most excited to be “Working for the King!” as our beloved principal (Mr. Moore) shares. It is an honor and a privilege to serve at Grace Academy. The Lord has blessed me with many gifts and lessons in my career and I am most excited to be able to apply them as an educator at Grace Academy!
